Welcome to the Crabby Creatures workshop space — a place for playful drawing, wild ink, and creative experimentation.

These relaxed, small-group sessions are run by Marty Farrer-Williams, the artist behind Crabby Creatures, whose expressive ink drawings and characters explore personality, emotion, and imagination.
 

Workshops are designed to help you loosen up, explore new materials, and rediscover the joy of making marks on paper. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced artist looking to shake up your style, the focus is on creativity, curiosity, and enjoying the process.

Small groups, relaxed atmosphere, and plenty of creative chaos.

All workshops take place at Martys Gallery/ Studio - Gallery Thirteen, situated in Haslemere, Surrey.

Expressive Ink & Mark Making – 4 Week Block
Thursdays, 6–8pm
Run by Marty Farrer-Williams, the artist behind Crabby Creatures.
Explore expressive ink lines, textures, and mark making. Perfect for beginners and those wanting to loosen up their style.
£140 for 4 sessions – Limited to 6 participants

Draw Your Own Crabby Creature – 2 Week Workshop

Design your own unique character and bring it to life in ink with guidance from Marty.
£70 – Limited to 6 participants

Character Drawing for Beginners – 4 Week Block
Dates: TBC
Learn to create expressive, personality-filled characters in a supportive and fun environment.
£140 for 4 sessions – Limited to 6 participants

Crabby Creatures Drawing Club
Every Tuesday, 6–8pm
A relaxed semi-guided weekly session for anyone who wants to sketch, experiment, and play with ink, character design, and creative prompts.
No experience needed.
£15 per session or £45/month membership

1:1 Creative Sessions with Marty

Take your creativity further with a personalised 1:1 session. Work directly with Marty, the artist behind Crabby Creatures, on any of our workshop subjects — from ink & mark making, character drawing, sketchbook exploration, to spray paint techniques.

Choose the format that suits you:

  • 1 hour taster – £40

  • 2 hour focused session – £80

  • 4-week in-depth programme (8 hours total) – £280

 

Whether you want to explore a single technique, develop your own project, or receive guided support on your creative journey, these sessions are tailored to your pace and interests.
